Archbishop's see, with museums and a university it holds, among other remarkable architectonic monuments, the Cathedral (built up between the XI and XII century erected on the tomb of king Olaf II, saint patron of Norway), where the Norwegian monarchs are crowned.

Of gothic architectonic style with Romanesque influences it is the only cathedral in stone of Norway.
